Lee Carroll Ph.D, DC - Managing Editor751 viewsDr Carroll now resides in China, after completing her Chiropractic Externship in the Life College of Chiropractic Clinic, Zigong. She has been involved in Research for most of her life, previously helping to design the lumbar support for Space Shuttle seats at NASA. In the 1970s she participated in the brain-mapping studies sweeping the Nation’s Universities at the time, ultimately responsible for helping to pinpoint VMH (ventro-medial hypothalamus) contributions to behavior.

Dr Carroll comes from a line of researchers, so she cannot escape its pull. Her great-grandfather was a ‘Marconi-guy’ who ground and inked the frequencies of each crystal used in his home-made radio sets—with which he was able to reach South America and Europe from Ireland. His patents still hold sway at Motorola. Her father set records as an oceanographer diving to 3,300 feet. She was raised with the reel-to-reel songs of the whales and dolphins he recorded, altering her brain-waves inexorably.

Dr Carroll enjoyed a successful career as an International Educator, teaching AP Calculus in 7 different countries around the world. She holds a PhD in Counseling; MA Exercise Physiology; and BA in Neurophysiological Psychology. She affirms that Research will put Chiropractic where it belongs.

Christopher Kent, D.C., F.C.C.I., J.D.749 viewsChristopher Kent, D.C., F.C.C.I., J.D., is the co-founder of the Chiropractic Leadership Alliance. His passion for facilitating human empowerment led him to the chiropractic profession, where he has served as a practitioner, educator, author, lecturer, and researcher. Dr. Kent graduated from Palmer College in Davenport, IA, in 1973. Following graduation, Dr. Kent joined the Palmer faculty. While at Palmer, he was elected president of the faculty senate and worked as a principal investigator in the research department.

Dr. Kent left Davenport and moved to Florida to practice full-time. He qualified as a specialist in chiropractic diagnostic imaging, was named a Fellow of the College of Chiropractic Imaging, and completed visiting fellowship programs in magnetic resonance imaging. He also served as an associate professor Palmer-West in California.

Acknowledged as one of the brightest minds in chiropractic, Dr. Kent returned to New Jersey in 1990 to continue in-depth research on surface EMG that he had started several years earlier with colleague and friend, Dr. Gentempo. His vision was to develop technologies that would objectively demonstrate manifestations of nerve interference and ultimately provide certainty for chiropractors and their patients. Along the way, Dr. Kent was recognized as "Chiropractic Researcher of the Year" in 1991 by the International Chiropractors Association (ICA). He was also named ICA's "Chiropractor of the Year" in 1998. In June 2001, Dr. Kent was elected Chair of the United Nations Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Health Committee, the first chiropractor to hold that office. In 2007, Dr. Kent was honored with the first Lifetime Achievement Award bestowed by Life University.

For over 35 years, Dr. Kent has been committed to developing improved clinical strategies, and securing the future of chiropractic. An attorney as well as a chiropractor, Dr. Kent is a member of the California bar. Dr. Kent’s ability to integrate the philosophy and science of chiropractic is legendary.
