Donald Gerken, DC, DACCP, CSTD
Dr. Donald Gerken received his chiropractic degree from LACC in 1994 and started his family practice in San Diego shortly thereafter with his wife, Diane, who is also a chiropractor. Over the next several years, Donald took additional courses in nutrition, pregnancy, pediatrics, Autism and craniosacral therapy becoming a Defeat Autism Now (DAN) doctor in 2007, receiving his Diplomat in Chiropractic Pediatrics in 2008 and his second Diplomat in CranioSacral Therapy, also known as cranial osteopathy, in 2010.
Dr. Gerken gives educational lectures in the community on a variety of topics including "Autism 101", "Ergonomics and Core Strength" and "Pregnancy is not a Disease." Inspired by his wife's pregnancies and the realization he was able to keep her pain free and healthy throughout both their first son's birth and the birth of their twins, his family practice now specializes in pregnancy.
He helps women with everything from nausea to sciatica to balancing the hips to optimize delivery - the key he discovered during his wife's pregnancies, which led to the vaginal delivery of both their first child, a 9-pound boy, as well as the vaginal delivery of their twins, who were each over 7 pounds. He educates parents and children about their bodies and the innate ability to heal. His primary desire is to inspire others to understand and use their own natural healing potential to help themselves achieve their goals of a long and active lifestyle.
